Skateboard Accessory

If you are interested in taking up the sport of skateboarding, then a skateboard accessory, like knee pads and elbow pads may be a good purchase in case of any imminent falls you might take during your practice sessions. Of course, you will also need to get yourself a skateboards before beginning, unless you already have one at home, or are planning on borrowing a friends or a siblings board until you get better. If you plan to purchase a board, then speak to the store manager about the best beginners skateboard, usually a board will need to be wide enough, so that both your feet hang over the edges in the front of the board and at the back of the board, for the best grip when doing tricks – a 7.5” deck is usually the best bet for a beginner.

All skateboard shops will have a wide range of accessories available, so you won’t be pushed for choice when selecting your ultimate skateboard accessory. When choosing your board, you need to examine the concave or dip in the board as per your preference when riding and performing tricks – if you are a beginner, then a big flip isn’t necessary, but later on you might like to experiment with the different types available to you. You will also be able to choose which wheels or “trucks” as they are known as, you would prefer. In the beginning, just opt for ones that turn easily and are quite hard and durable. You will also need wheel bearings, so it is a good idea to chat to the store manager about the ideal ones for a beginner.

A great sakteboard accessory to have a little bit of fun with is a sticker or two! All stores stock a wide range of bright and colorful stickers that have different skateboard terms on them – these will make your board stand out, as well as allowing you to add your own personal touch to it! You can also play around with different colored wheels and decks, to see what suits you best! Once you have been skateboarding for a while and are certain that it is a hobby you’re going to stick to, you might like to purchase a pair of skateboarding shoes, as they help a lot with balance and stability, and prevent you from twisting your ankle on many occasions! You will be able to get a pair at any skateboard shop, and even other retail stores, as they have gained immense popularity, even with people who don’t skateboard wearing them as a fashion statement!

Once you have your skateboard, accessory range, shoes and all, you’re ready to skate and learn new tricks! If you are planning on practicing at a skate park, there will surely be many experienced skateboarders around; always willing to help you perfect a trick by demonstrating it to you and giving a few tips and sound advice. Although it may seem difficult at first, and you may fall a few times, before you know it, you’ll be just as good as the others, and having a blast in your spare time!
